Accuvant was founded in 2002 by a group of security veterans who saw the need for comprehensive solutions in an industry that had become too specialized and fragmented. The founders' vision was to create a company that would bridge the gap between vendors and end users by combining best-of-class technology with expert consulting services. Since then, the security landscape and corporate priorities have dramatically changed, and Accuvant has continually refined its strategy, client offerings, and position in the marketplace to remain at the forefront of this swiftly changing technology sector.

In 2003, in response to the rapid increase in regulatory and compliance pressures facing their clients, Accuvant built a dedicated compliance practice and developed a proprietary compliance automation tool, now operating as a separate business entity called ControlPath. By hiring dedicated compliance professionals, Accuvant was among the first in the industry to allow organizations to make strategic security decisions within the context of their unique and specific regulatory requirements.

Once again, organizations are experiencing a pivotal shift: the convergence of security and IT.
